The primary function of the Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist is to assist the accounting department that handles the company’s generated income. The Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist will work with staff to ensure all money owed to the company is billed and received correctly and in a timely fashion.
Contact vendors or clients to resolve payment/billing issues.
Manage collection activities such as sending follow-ups, negotiating past due accounts, or communicating with collection agency.
To research payment for correct account number and payment amount and correct programs
To notify appropriate personnel for corrections and non-scheduled work
To check the customer’s account for all updated information, including billing information, email address and contact numbers
To post credit card and check payments in customer accounts
To assist Accounts Receivable Manager in any paperwork tasks as organizing schedules, filing miscellaneous paper etc.
Take credit card payments over the phone
Aides in any area of customer service that is necessary
Assists with designated reporting
Completes additional assigned tasks from management personnel
