SUMMARY
Asa Carlton, Inc., a commercial construction company headquartered in Braselton, GA, currently has an opening for a Project Engineer.
The Project Engineer is responsible for project document control including construction drawings and specifications, RFI’s, Submittals, Warranty requests, etc. The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager to plan projects, establish project criteria, coordinate project reviews, and ensure the proper implementation of project elements.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following
Assists the Project Manager in ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget.
Maintain control of all project documentation.
Coordinates and maintains special inspection documentation for the project.
Create, manage and track RFI’s from the field to the Architect/Engineer of Record.
Maintain and distribute project plans and records.
Assist the Project Manager/Superintendent in distribution of the project schedule.
Study project specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
In charge of turning in submittals from Subcontractors to A/E for approval for all scopes of work based on the plans and specifications.
Responsible for understanding project plans and specifications and answering field personnel questions.
Assist project team in getting building permits for the project.
Understanding of applicable building codes and regulations.
Conducts and documents weekly project meetings.
Creates and distributes meeting minutes.
Assists the project team with site safety documentation and coordination.
Assist the project team with documenting job progress and schedule.
Assist the project team with closeout of the project including coordination of O&M manuals, punch list, As-built drawings, etc.
Inform all supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes and work closely with all stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
Understand and follow company policy, processes, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements
Education And/or Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree is preferred, but equivalent work experience will also be considered.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft 365 Office Suite, with a heavy emphasis in Excel.
Experience with Bluebeam Revu software is a plus.
Excellent organization skills and time management ability.
Ability to multitask.
Knowledge/experience In a Construction-related Industry Is Preferred.
Possess all auditory, speaking and communicating capabilities.
May require nationwide travel up to 30-40% throughout the entire US.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the Project Engineer is frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk to hear. The Project Engineer is occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, twist, climb, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms. The Project Engineer must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
