Ascent Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a fast growing generic pharmaceutical company located in Long Island, NY. Our core business is in the areas of Development, Manufacturing, Marketing and Distribution of high quality and cost-effective generic prescription medicines. Ascent has drug product development and commercial operations within its 309,000 square feet area.

Receptionist: The Receptionist is the first point of contact for visitors, vendors, customers, and staff as they enter the facility or call into our offices. You will be responsible for answering and directing phone calls, greeting visitors, and providing general information at the front desk during normal business hours. Additionally, you will be responsible for administrative tasks such as copying, sorting, typing, faxing, preparing mailings, sorting mail, distribution of checks, collection of applications and general administrative duties. In addition, you will assist with administrative duties for the HR department.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments
  • Receive payment and record receipts for services
  • Perform administrative support tasks, such as proofreading, operating computers, typing memos, sorting and filing
  • Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations
  • Hear and resolve complaints from employees or visitors
  • Assist Human Resources in applications, filing and maintaining records as well as preparing new hire packages
  • Transmit information or documents to managers, using computer, mail, or fax machine
  • Schedule appointments and interviews and maintain and update appointment calendars
  • Analyze data to determine answers to questions from employees or vendors.
  • Organize, order and track the distribution of lab coats and employee uniforms
  • Enroll and train new employees on the time clock system
  • Maintain locker assignments and keys
  • Sort and distribute mail and paychecks;
  • Assist in preparing for Company functions and social events
  • Other tasks as assigned by management

Education/Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English
  • Knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook
