Ascentec Engineering is hiring a swing shift Machinist II to support our MU6300 Mill Turn machine center 5-axis experience highly preferred. Qualified candidates must possess the necessary skills to successfully function in a quick-turn, high-speed machine shop. This position presents a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude / skills and an attention to detail with many avenues for career growth. Set up and operate a variety of CNC machine tools and controls to produce precision parts.
Swing Shift : Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2 : 30 a.m.
This position is on-site (not hybrid or remote) at our Dallas, Oregon location. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
Requirements :
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : Included, but not limited to :
- Load and unload parts for machining up to 40 pounds.
- Read and interpret manufacturing prints.
- Possess efficient math skills and basic understanding of geometric tolerance.
- Check parts using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, pins, indicators and bore gauges.
- CNC setup and operation; tech tools, load programs and set / adjust work / tool offsets accordingly. Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls.
- Inspect machined parts following 1st Part and in process inspection protocol.
- Must have CNC 3 & 4 axis machining experience. 5 axis is a plus.
- Able to change fixtures, replace tool changes and manage tool libraries.
- Machining and holding tolerances of / - .0005".
- 5s, keeping area clean and organized.
