What are the responsibilities and job description for the RHC Nurse position at Ashland Health Center?
Job Summary:
Performs all nursing services, within scope of practice; plans and organizes day to ensure the efficient functions and activities within the RHC. Maintains and improves the level of patient care, resident care and standards of care in the RHC. Ensures compliance with established standards, practices and regulatory requirements of the nursing department.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and adherence to scope of practice. Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions. Ability to assess the specific age-related needs of patients. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly.
Requirements:Job Qualifications:
Experience:
- One year of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting preferred.
- Office-related experience preferred, with proficient use of a personal computer, copy machine, and a calculator.
- Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, interdepartmentally and with support agencies.
- Strong written and oral communication skills. (ability to speak Spanish is preferred).
- Must have the desire/ability to learn clinic software appropriate for the position.
Education: Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program.
Required Certification, /Registration: Registration and current LPN or RN license in the state of Kansas
