Asphalt Green is looking to hire a Program Manager who will be situated at the Major Owens Community Center (MOCC). The site, which is operated by Asphalt Green, is located in Brooklyn's vibrant Crown Heights neighborhood. The Center serves as a cornerstone for community engagement, creativity, and growth. The center offers a variety of programs, from dance classes to cultural events, bringing people together in a dynamic and welcoming environment.
The Program Manager is employed by Asphalt Green and reports to the Asphalt Green Managing Director overseeing the business. We seek an experienced individual to manage various programs' planning, implementation, and supervision, ensuring a high-quality and impactful experience for participants of all ages and abilities. This role also involves potential collaboration with center partners to coordinate efforts and ensure no conflicts or issues.
In addition to overseeing all aspects of programming, this role will supervise the Program Coordinator, ensuring they align with the department's goals and standards.
Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Innovation:
- Oversee all program development, implementation, and evaluation aspects for recreational classes and leagues, fitness group exercise programs, summer camps, and competitive sports teams.
- Identify new program opportunities that align with community needs, industry trends, and Asphalt Green's mission.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local schools, community organizations, and program partners to expand offerings and outreach.
- Deliver and hold program staff accountable for providing instruction that is consistent with the methodology and curriculum cascaded from Asphalt Green headquarters.
Operational Excellence:
- Manage program budgets effectively, ensuring financial viability and alignment with strategic goals.
- Develop and implement efficient scheduling and staffing procedures to optimize program delivery.
- Oversee program registration, family, and participant experience.
Staff Management and Development:
- Provide coaching, supervision, and professional development for program staff, including program coordinators, instructors, and camp counselors.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
Data Measurement:

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 – 3 years of experience in program management, athletics, recreation, sports administration, or a related field.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sports, fitness, and/or camp programs.
- Excellent budget management and financial planning skills.
- Experience supervising staff and fostering a positive work environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Salary : $55,000 - $58,500
