Description

We seek an individual to join a highly motivated team in selflessly advancing The Association of Former Students’ noble mission. The Business Intelligence Architect will lead strategic and tactical efforts to create end-to-end business intelligence (BI) solutions that enable data-driven decision making across the organization.

DUTIES 

Primary functions: 

  • Fosters an environment of trust, innovation, and professionalism among the Information Systems team. 
  • Leads and manages “Extract, Transform, Load” processes and data pipelines in order to deliver up-to-date information in Salesforce. 
  • Develops data models that define the structure and organization of data within the BI environment to support analysis requirements. 
  • Extracts, analyzes, manipulates and captures information for departmental stakeholders to facilitate problem resolution, strategic initiatives, and KPI tracking. 
  • Upgrades and configures Salesforce system software and products for optimized integration and to determine applicability. 
  • Manages data integration between various systems and services using APIs and custom scripting. 
  • Stays current on donor database technological advances and assists in the planning and execution of software upgrades. 
  • Assists Director of Information Systems and performs related duties as directed. 

Participates in and provides input on various Association-wide activities: 

  • Actively contributes toward efforts to achieve our culture, engagement, and fundraising goals. 
  • Provides on-site event support for Board and Leadership Council meetings. 
  • Participates on internal event teams and task committees. 
  • Participates in Association events, including but not limited to Aggie Muster, Aggie Ring Day, Reunions, Distinguished Alumni Gala, Pass It Back Day, All-Aggie Grad Party, and All-Aggie Hullabaloo, as needed. 

Serves as an ambassador for The Association: 

  • Meets our Team Expectations. 
  • Supports The Association’s marketing, communications, and branding initiatives. 
  • Fosters relationships with students, former students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of Texas A&M.  
  • Attends external events on behalf of The Association, as directed.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

Required: Sound judgment and utmost discretion. Strong technical aptitude. Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, entry analysis, distribution, etc.). Demonstrated critical-thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to organize concurrent projects, manage time and meet deadlines, while working independently with minimal supervision or collaboratively with teammates. Superb attention to detail paired with the ability to recognize and analyze the bigger picture. Ability to be an agent of change, capable of advocating for and implementing new approaches. Ability to work effectively with a variety of unique personalities and individuals. Commitment to continuing education and professional development. Ability to use standard office equipment and software, including the Microsoft 365 suite.  

Preferred: Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex information with clarity.  


OTHER REQUIREMENTS 

Strong commitment to the mission and vision of The Association of Former Students, with the ability and desire to advocate for the organization and Texas A&M University. High energy level and intrinsic motivation. Texas driver’s license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Availability to travel occasionally, including overnight stays, weekends, and evenings, in support of Association events. 


EXPERIENCE 

Required: Experience in business intelligence, data warehousing or analytics roles. Experience with SQL, database design and data warehousing concepts.  

Preferred: Experience in web APIs (SOAP, ReST, etc.). Experience with Salesforce CRM and web application software. 


EDUCATION 

Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in a related field. 

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related data management field. Certifications in Business Intelligence and data analytics.

Received: Director of Information Systems.
