Describe a day in the life of your role?
Transcript
As an Executive Medical Science Liaison, a day in the life of my role typically consists of virtual or live meetings with healthcare professionals to discuss science. And oftentimes in between these meetings, I will have virtual teleconferences with AstraZeneca internal colleagues. So on a typical day, I will have three meetings. My first meeting will be in the morning, typically with a cardiologist to discuss results of a late breaking trial. In the afternoon, for example, I may have a meeting with an investigator and the objective of that meeting will be to discuss his or her research proposal. Later in the afternoon, I may have a presentation to a group of healthcare professionals that may be to a group of pharmacists or a group of fellows or group of nurse practitioners and nurses. And the objective of this presentation might be to discuss guidelines, disease state, or clinical practises within that particular therapeutic area. So in essence, every day is different for a medical science liaison. Providing value to internal colleagues and external healthcare professionals is what makes it worthwhile.
