The Dental Operations Manager oversees and ensures the effective management of all aspects of dental program operations. This includes delivering exceptional customer service, managing human resources, utilizing information systems, overseeing patient-centered clinical care, ensuring quality assurance, and maintaining financial oversight. The role encompasses administrative leadership of the dental program, including staff supervision, budget and productivity management, and the development and implementation of tools and processes to promote efficient and effective operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Represent the organization to the community in a consistently positive and effective manner.
2. Manage the daily operations of the dental program. Optimizes clinical workflows. Acts as a resource in the daily operations and activities of the department.
3. Collaborates internally and externally to promote effective working relationships within the services line to facilitate achieving goals and objectives.
2. Oversee and coordinate dental operation duties including supply management, referrals, policy and procedures, budgets, responses to employee and patient questions and concerns, and completion of appropriate paperwork to comply with insurance and reimbursement guidelines.
3. Orient and assure compliance of all dental personnel (including volunteers) to clinic operations, Electronic Medical Records, CLIA testing, lab procedures, policies and procedures, Blood Borne Pathogen regulations, Immunization protocols, and other information as needed. Maintains appropriate documentation of all training and testing.
4. Plan, direct, develop and coordinate management of the outreach and clinic programs in all locations.
5. Monitor clinic flow and assist providers or dental staff with keeping on time and meeting productivity goals.?
6. Manage, support, and evaluate dental support staff and patient advocates, assess the staffing needs of the clinic and oversee hiring process.
7. Track timesheets, scheduling, and coordination of clinical staff for all leave types, including PTO requests, attendance issues, and FMLA, in accordance with policies and procedures.
8. Oversee dental staff designated to comply with the CLIA waiver.
9. Oversee dental staff designated for medication ordering.
10. Oversee dental staff designated to maintain clinic supplies and ordering.
11. Serve as an active participant in quality and risk meetings.
12. Lead staff huddles and meetings relating to clinical operations to ensure alignment of clinical goals and processes.
13. Cover staff absences as allowed by licensure.
14. Monthly submission of a board report and attendance of the monthly Board meeting as requested by supervisor.
15. Perform other related work as assigned or requested.
Requirements:Required Education: Registered Dental Hygienist, or a bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field is preferred.
Required Experience: Two years supervisory level experience is required. Bachelor’s degree may substitute for two years of the required experience. Dental outreach and/or clinic experience.
