Who We Are:
The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, weve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

About the Role:
The Education and Outreach Specialist II is responsible for leading education efforts and initiatives to expand knowledge and understanding of hunger and its impact on our community and to advance the Food Banks strategic priorities. This individual will be responsible for seeking, creating, and maintaining connections with external community stakeholders, developing and facilitating educational programming, supporting efforts to increase awareness and public support for anti-hunger policies, programs and other strategic initiatives.
What Youll Do:
Build and nurture relationships

Build and guide engagement with targeted local constituencies including education and civic organizations, elected officials, government agencies, and the general public.

Support organizational efforts to engage people with lived experience with food insecurity as strong advocates in efforts to increase awareness and advance policy priorities.

With team, continually explore and develop innovative ways to educate and engage community around hunger issues, our strategic initiatives, and our network.
Develop and Deliver Educational Programming

Develop educational programming for assigned constituency; research and develop curricula and presentations; prepare activities and both in-person and distance materials.

Schedule and facilitate both in-person and distance learning educational programming for a variety of settings and audiences, including, but not limited to, public and private schools and youth groups, college and university students, community-based organizations, companies, and volunteers.

Schedule and lead tours guided by Food Bank messaging and curricula material.

Maintain and update programs curriculum and outreach materials.

Support continued expansion of distance learning.

Plan, recruit, facilitate and/or support summer and targeted year-round youth programming.
Manage data and administrative activities

Collect and help track monthly program activity.

Coordinate events such as workshops, meetings, special events, speaker series, etc.

Compile data related to program participation, send evaluations and conduct surveys to collect participant feedback.

Train and supervise interns as needed.

What Youll Need: Skills and Experience your resume should demonstrate:

Must have proven experience with program facilitation - ability and passion for engaging groups and guiding them through activities and discussion.

Must be comfortable using online platforms such as Teams, Zoom, RingCentral, etc.

Demonstrate experience successfully managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Must demonstrate a track record of working independently, handling multiple projects, and meeting deadlines.

Must have experience working with both youth and adult groups.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Mailchimp.

Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in Spanish and English.
