Job Title: Fire Protection Designer

Job Summary:
The Fire Protection Designer is responsible for the complete design and management of fire protection projects, including design, submittal, surveying, and fabrication. Projects cover a range of fire protection systems, such as wet and dry sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, and fire pump room layouts.

Responsibilities:

• Review project specifications and create sprinkler system layouts.
• Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure the system meets design requirements.
• Create material submittal packets and organize submittals for state and municipal agencies.
• Conduct site surveys to minimize field conflicts.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other trades.
• Conduct BIM coordination using Navisworks software.
• Prepare shop drawings and stock lists for purchasing and fabrication.
• Complete As-Built drawings for final installations.
• Provide technical assistance to customers and field personnel.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of sprinkler system design experience, with exposure to a variety of system types and project sizes.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and HydraCAD; experience with Revit is preferred.
• NICET Level 2 certification in water-based systems layout.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and various sprinkler systems.
• Ability to complete designs within budgeted hours.
• Strong decision-making skills and judgment.
• Effective project management skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,780.61 - $100,000.00 per year

• HydraCAD: 3 years (Preferred)
• Revit: 1 year (Preferred)
• NICET: 3 years (Preferred)
