We are currently seeking an Athletics Admission Representative, responsible for recruiting qualified student-athletes for admission to the university in accordance with state and federal accreditation, athletic league regulations, and institutional policies. This role requires a commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards and fostering a supportive environment for student-athletes.
The Admission Representative plays a crucial role in guiding prospective students through the admissions process at our institution. This position involves engaging with potential students, providing them with information about our programs, and assisting them in making informed decisions about their education. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with athletic coaches to identify and recruit talented student-athletes who meet the university's academic and athletic standards.
- Attend athletic events, showcases, and tournaments to build relationships with prospective student-athletes and their families.
- Evaluate athletic skills and eligibility based on league requirements (e.g., USCAA, NAIA).
- Organize, direct, and administer recruitment activities, promoting applications and enrollment in the university’s undergraduate, graduate, continuing education, and online programs.
- Take inquiry calls from potential students and provide information about athletic programs, entrance requirements, and academic standards.
- Conduct outbound calls to potential students and promptly follow up on web inquiries.
- Schedule and conduct interviews to determine candidates’ appropriateness for admission based on career goals and compatibility with the university’s athletic and academic programs.
- Clearly communicate the benefits of Atlantis University’s athletic programs, facilities, and coaching staff to prospective students and their families.
- Serve as a liaison between the admissions team and athletics department to ensure alignment on goals and recruitment efforts.
- Stay informed about athletic league rules and eligibility requirements to provide accurate guidance to student-athletes during the admissions process.
- Assist in tracking academic eligibility and documentation for recruited student-athletes to ensure compliance with league standards.
- Facilitate a smooth transition for student-athletes by coordinating with academic advisors and athletic staff for schedules, tutoring, and other support.
- Act as a resource for student-athletes navigating scholarships, financial aid, and housing options tailored to their athletic commitments.
- Represent the university at athletic recruitment fairs, open houses, and orientation sessions specifically for student-athletes.
- Organize and host campus visits, tours of athletic facilities, and meetings with coaches for prospective student-athletes.
- Build a pipeline of prospective student-athletes and accurately forecast projected new enrollments.
- Consistently conduct follow-up meetings with applicants to ensure successful matriculation.
- Follow up with interviews that did not progress in the enrollment process and with dropped/cancelled students to address concerns.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working within a university or educational system in admissions or athletic recruiting is required.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of effective phone communication, including cold calling and follow-ups.
- Strong interpersonal skills with both prospective students and administration/faculty.
- Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM tools is preferred.
- Ability to assist coaches with the recruitment process, including identifying and attracting talented student-athletes.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to keep accurate records and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel locally, regionally, or nationally for recruitment events.
