JOB SUMMARY
As VP of Business Development at Ausland Group, you will secure new projects, strengthen client partnerships, and grow the company’s presence across Oregon. You’ll manage business development initiatives, oversee marketing efforts, and ensure clients receive exceptional service.
This position can be based in either of Ausland Group’s offices in Eugene or Grants Pass, with frequent travel required to connect with clients and visit project sites.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify Opportunities: Develop and pursue new business leads for design-build, CM/GC, and design-only projects.
- Communicate Value: Clearly articulate Ausland Group’s unique design-build approach, emphasizing our fully integrated architecture, engineering, and construction services.
- Negotiate Contracts: Understand client needs, frame solutions, and close deals.
- Maintain Client Relationships: Ensure client satisfaction by addressing challenges and building long-term partnerships.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership to create and implement a market strategy to expand our reach and increase market share.
- Lead Proposals: Develop high-quality responses to RFPs tailored to client and project needs.
- Oversee Marketing: Direct the execution of marketing strategies, supervise a Marketing Specialist, and coordinate proposal response teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 years of experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry with a focus on business development or marketing.
- Expertise in developing and executing marketing strategies.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and manage competing priorities.
- Willingness to travel frequently and attend community events.

- Experienced in Project Development: You know how to guide projects from concept to completion, leveraging the power of integrated teams.
- Client-Focused: You prioritize understanding client goals and delivering practical, effective solutions.

- Approachable and Credible: You communicate effectively and build trust through integrity and professionalism.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to sit or drive for prolonged periods in a standard seated position.
- Capable of reaching by extending hands or arms in various directions.
- Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), i.e.: using a keyboard.
- Ability to see within normal parameters.
- Ability to hear within normal range.
- Clear verbal communication, with the ability to be understood at close range.
