Position Type: Full Time (5 nights a week, Monday through Friday)

What You’ll Do:
As our Shelter Advocate, you'll play a key role in guiding survivors through their journey toward healing. Here’s how you can make an impact:
- Crisis Counseling: Provide compassionate support to individuals and groups, creating a safe space for healing.
- Legal Advocacy: Help survivors navigate the legal system by assisting with Orders of Protection and accompanying them to court.
- Resource Connection: Equip survivors with vital information and referrals, ensuring they have access to all the resources they need.
- Trauma-Informed Care: Implement sensitive and empathetic approaches in every interaction with clients.
- Advocate: Stand by survivors within the judicial system, local agencies, schools, and more—your voice matters!
- Community Collaboration: Build strong relationships with community partners to expand our support network.
- Crisis Line Coverage: Be the friendly voice on the other end of the line, providing immediate assistance when it’s needed most.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills for analyzing problems and brainstorming solutions.
- Sound judgment and discretion to handle sensitive situations with care.
- Basic computer skills to manage records and information effectively.

- A commitment to confidentiality that you hold close to your heart.
Additional Requirements:
This position may require some weekend and third-shift work to ensure we’re there for our clients around the clock.
