Revenue Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the closing process; monthly, quarterly and annually ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
Essential Functions:
- Balance sheet and P & L fluctuation Analysis
- Evaluate new contracts for revenue recognition guidelines
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Revenue variance analysis
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance with SOX and internal policies
- Prepare and advise on the timely and accurate documentation of accounting for significant and non-routine accounting transactions and events.
- Research accounting guidance in order to recommend revenue recognition policies
- Evaluate contracts for complex accounting issues including revenue recognition and the proper accounting for those transactions.
- Ensure all reporting deadlines are met.
- Balance sheet accounts reconciliations
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
- Supervision of assigned staff and roles including ownership of multiple controls
- Interface with management in various departments, including sales, operations, vendor relations, IT and legal as may be necessary
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
- Work with finance and accounting team to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress
- Support with special projects and workflow process improvements including identifying and implementing automation where applicable
- Review contracts for accounting treatment and implement necessary processes to comply with contracts
- Apply GTN accounting principles to revenue transactions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA required.
- ASC 606 Experience
- Strong technical accounting background.
- At least five years general ledger accounting experience is required
- Understanding and experience with SOX compliance, auditing and required reporting
- Experience in a public company with a control environment highly desired.
- 3-4 years of prior public accounting experience preferred
- Strong Excel experience
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
