Receiving Supervisor

Avo Photonics (www.avophotonics.com) is a dynamic contract engineering services company that designs, develops and manufactures custom opto-electronic products for a large customer base.

We seek a diligent, dedicated and meticulous person who will help to further our success and reputation in the industry through world-class customer service. The successful candidate must plan his/her own work schedule to meet project deadlines, keep multiple records, be self-motivated, maintain a professional presence, and have the desire to take ownership of projects.

Specifically:

• Direct and supervise the receipt of incoming deliveries, including verifying quantities, inspecting for damages, and confirming accuracy against packing slips
• Communicate with the Procurement team to resolve discrepancies or issues at incoming
• Supervise Warehouse Associates to ensure timely receipt and processing of materials
• Coordinate job assignments and cross-training with Shipping Supervisor
• Inspect and maintain warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, lifts, and basic tools. Report any malfunctions, insufficiencies, or necessary repairs to the manager
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to OSHA safety regulations
• Participate in physical inventory at the end of each half-year

Requirements:

• High school diploma or A.S.
• 5 years experience in a warehouse position
• Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques
• Proficiency in computer and data entry systems
• Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
• Forklift certification and/or ability to successfully complete forklift training and operate machinery safely according to company protocol.
• Outstanding verbal and written English communication skills
• Attributes: High attention to detail, organized, able to multitask, personable, motivated, willing to take initiative
