POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Reporting Manager will lead analytics, reporting, and data exploration to drive actionable insights and improve decision-making. This role involves monitoring financial and business trends, creating dashboards and reports, and guiding the development of predictive models and analytics solutions.
The manager will set goals, manage the business intelligence team, and ensure the accuracy of data and reporting systems. They will translate complex data into actionable insights, streamline processes through automation, and support stakeholder decision-making with clear, impactful analyses.
This role is capable of being remote, hybrid, or onsite.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
- Lead reporting, analytics and data exploration and recommend improvements.
- Monitor data to identify changes in financial and business trends
- Provide strategic insights into internal and external customer data needs.
- Contribute to development of models around predictive recommendations, marketing attribution, financial forecasts, etc to support the best decision making within the organization.
- Provide ongoing status on BI and Analytics led projects.
- Create, update and edit functional and technical design specifications and solutions to satisfy project requirements.
- Responsible for the training and development of team members.
- Set goals and drive the overall roadmap for the business intelligence reporting team.
- Support and independently own tasks related to design, development of conversions and interfaces.
- Guide the team on how to build and maintain dashboards to track product usage and performance.
- Build, maintain, and communicate detailed reporting, dashboards and analysis on key business metrics and challenges.
- Establish operational objectives and work plans, and delegate assignments to subordinates.
- Translate complex analytics tasks into easily consumable outputs to guide data-driven decisions with various stakeholders.
- Develop consistent approaches and methodologies for data analysis, automate repeatable tasks and drive process efficiencies.
- Design business analysis and data recording systems for use throughout the department
- Maintain databases and perform updates as necessary to ensure accuracy
- Regularly examine data reports to locate and resolve mistakes throughout
- Accurately analyze and collect data for various types of business reports
- Create business reports that provide insight into key data points
- Communicate the results of data analysis in written and verbal form to managers
- Support various departments, including operations, marketing and sales, in reaching their goals through analysis
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Deep knowledge of MS Power BI, Excel, database management and data modeling
- Expertise in DAX, SQL, and other analytical tools
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Experience in SAP and other data analysis programs
- Analytical skills that allow for the development of data-driven reports
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines
- Ability to use SQL and Microsoft Office to create pivot tables, graphs and charts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to coworkers
- Excellent critical thinking skills to help solve business problems and make decisions
- Tendency to pay close attention to small details that could impact results
- General knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, process and information flow
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
- BS in Finance or Accounting; MBA, CPA, CFA preferred
Skills
- Excellent verbal and writing communication skills
- Experience in manufacturing, CPG, retail, pharma preferred
- Extensive experience working on MS Power BI or another multi-dimensional database/BI/DV tool a pre-requisite
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with commitment to high-quality work products
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience
- 7 years of FP&A or other business modeling & analysis experience such as manufacturing
- Knowledge of SAP or other ERP system a plus
