Currently hiring for a full-time Hospice Chaplain:
We are looking for a chaplain to provide spiritual and emotional support when needed to the Hospice patient/family and to members of the hospice team. The chaplain will visit patients, provide assistance at the time of the patient's death and support the family during the bereavement period.
Applicant must be able to work independently, make decisions, be flexible and have good interpersonal skills. As a hospice chaplain one must be able to tolerate exposure to elements such as odors, blood, body fluids, etc. Applicant must also have a current driver's license, insurance and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct spiritual support and counsel to patents and families in keeping with their beliefs
- Work with staff, clergy and community groups to enhance their sensitivity to the spiritual concerns of patients/families experiencing terminal illness and loss. Provide education for community clergy.
- Participate in IDG and maintain records of patient/family interactions
- Provide bereavement follow-up
- Help in many aspects of memorial service preparation and execution
- Develop and maintain a resource group of clergy to whom specific aspects of spiritual care may be delegated.
- Arrange for on-call availability of spiritual services
Qualifications
- Certificate or degree in pastoral ministry.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a chaplain/spiritual counselor
- Active patient contact within past 3 years, preferred

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
