JOB SUMMARY
B&B Print Source is seeking an experienced Pre-Press Manager to join our local commercial printing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our pre-press operations and team, preparing designs, creating print-ready files, and collaborating with clients and the production team to ensure timely delivery of quality products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage all aspects of the pre-press process, including preflight, layout, imposition, and final file preparation
· Oversee the team of prepress and design staff
· Ensure all files received from clients are of high quality and meet our printing requirements
· Assign projects and workflow within the department.
· Pre-flight PDF files according to printing standards of files to prepare them for print and digital reproduction.
· Maintain consistent communications of project details and scheduled job status with other managers and customer service.
· Analyze designs and make recommendations for improvements to ensure ease of production and high-quality output
· Maintain and troubleshoot pre-press equipment
· Maintain standard operating procedures for all pre-press processes to minimize errors
· Train and mentor pre-press staff on new technologies and best practices in the industry
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· Education and /or Experience: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or Technical school; or six months to one year related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Quark X press, PDF workflow essential and Microsoft Office. Preferred knowledge of (any specifics to add here?)
