Accountant / Bookkeeping

Job description Summary:

B-D Construction, Inc. has an opening for a Full Time accountant / bookkeeper. The main job duties include supporting management in the day-to-day company accounting functions such as account payable, account receivable and payroll.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Controls all accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Communicates with subcontractors and vendors daily for payments
• Manage payment process to vendors and subcontractors and confirm lien waivers are properly collected.
• Performs a variety of general bookkeeping and clerical accounting duties
• Provides reports to 3^rd Party Accountant
• Use a variety of computer software including Foundation Construction Accounting Software
• Ensure accurate payroll processing for construction crews
• Assisting with payroll data entry and ensuring accurate deductions are calculated.
• Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, and collaborate with external auditors during audits.
• Generating customer invoices, tracking payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
• Matching bank statements to accounting records and resolving discrepancies.
• Processes invoices for payment via check or electronic payment; reissues checks
• Prepare bank deposits
• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger daily to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
• Remit State Sales Tax

Experience:

Prior accounting / bookkeeping experience is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office especially Excel or related software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving and organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and construction industry practices
• Ability to work independently and be a self starter

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
