What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Wealth Specialist position at BakerHostetler?
- Overview
We are looking for an experienced individual to join our Private Wealth group.
The ideal candidate (i) has a background in (a) accounting, (b) bookkeeping, and (c) estate and probate administration, (ii) can prepare tax returns, including fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041), gift tax returns (Form 709), estate tax returns (Form 706), and private foundation tax returns (Form 990 PF), and (iii) is proficient in Excel. A degree in accounting is preferred, but not required.
- Responsibilities
- Conduct tax research regarding individual, fiduciary, partnership, foundation, S-corporation, estate, gift and GST tax matters
- Assist attorneys on tax-planning projects for clients
- Prepare tax returns
- Perform audits and analyze financial information to assist matrimonial lawyers
- Assist paralegals with estate and probate administration matters, and independently handle same
- Stay informed on industry developments and changes in applicable laws, rules and regulations
Requirements
- 10 years of relevant experience
- College degree in accounting or related field
