Construction Superintendent (Fort Lauderdale, FL)

Working closely with the Project Manager and field management to review and update progress and cost reports, schedules, and requirements for completion. Assisting in development and management of project’s general conditions, construction schedule, project planning and phasing, and buyout strategy during preconstruction. Assisting in preconstruction planning regarding the project schedule and budget and reviewing project estimates and cost control system at the beginning of the project. Understanding project specifications, the contract, and the contact’s general conditions, and confirming that all materials and subcontract work complies with contract documents and quality specifications. Advising the project team on appropriate changes in methods, materials schedules, and procedures, and ensuring all materials are properly tested according to specification and ensures that all test results are properly recorded. Ensuring that project site and company assets are secure and communicating individual safety roles, responsibilities, and expectations to our clients, Operations staff, subcontractors, vendors, and the public to maintain a safe and respectful working environment. Reviewing and approving all bills for materials and subcontractor requisitions, confirming extra charges from subcontractors/suppliers and work is correctly executed, and ensuring that the project closeout process is finalized to settle all financial obligations, demobilizing all resources, and transitioning the project to the client. Facilitating weekly project progress and safety meetings with all subcontractor representatives and coordinating the upcoming week’s work, including partnering with Loss Prevention Professionals and owner/architect representatives. Coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection trades (MEPF). Coordinating and documenting all start-up, Technical Activities Board (TAB), and commissioning activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field, and four years of experience in construction project management, commercial construction, as a construction superintendent, as a project engineer or experience in a related field.
• Experience with managing pre-construction operations, including cost analysis, cost estimating, and scheduling.
• Experience with project management/cost/contract management software programs, including Procore, Oracle Primavera P6, JD Edwards, and BlueBeam.
