We are seeking a proactive and skilled Lean Construction Practitioner to join our dynamic team. This role will leverage Lean methodologies and principles to identify inefficiencies, drive process improvements, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organization. Reporting to the VP of Safety, the ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and skilled collaborator capable of inspiring change and building consensus.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the adoption of a continuous improvement culture by translating Lean concepts into actionable strategies.
- Collaborate with department stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and execute improvement initiatives.
- Train, coach, and mentor team members on Lean principles and problem-solving techniques to enhance organizational capabilities.
- Work collaboratively with peers, stakeholders, and support teams to implement sustainable, holistic solutions.
- Establish and maintain a visual workplace, integrating metrics, 6S methodologies, standardized work, and the Last Planner System.
- Analyze data to uncover process inefficiencies and develop root-cause solutions.
- Effectively navigate and address resistance to change while building consensus.
- Utilize strong communication, interpersonal skills, and business acumen to influence and inspire others.
- Conduct site visits throughout the tri-state area to support and implement Lean initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in leading or facilitating Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage employees at all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to influence others, build consensus, and effectively manage multiple tasks.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Demonstrated success in leading projects and facilitating workshops in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical capability to access all areas of a construction site, including uneven terrain, scaffolding, and elevated areas.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the tri-state area to visit job sites and implement best practices.
