- Deftly and innovatively integrates substantial healthcare expertise; business acumen; the scientific methodology of quasi-experimentation with repurposed data and the tools of the data science craft, data ingesting; data cleansing; feature engineering; data filtering and aggregating; statistical estimation and hypothesis testing; machine learning and iterative development and continuous production integration and deployment.
- To envision and bring to timely; extensible fruition; a growing portfolio of data science work products that advance the mission of Medicaid clients.
- Additionally, a Principal Data Scientist mentors less experienced team members to develop their craft.
- To understand costs and benefits in defining and evangelizing programmatic data science for Medicaid clients.
- This position requires solid prior experience with healthcare data along with a completed course of post-graduate training in a healthcare discipline.
Must Have:
- Expert knowledge of SQL queries to process large amounts of data in a set-based fashion.
- Thorough understanding of various SQL windowing functions through regular use.
- Solid understanding of indexing; stored procedures; materialized views; etc.
- Has worked with datasets 10 B rows in size; many of them ugly/messy.
- Solid python; including having developed complex object-oriented designs.
- Solid knowledge of Repeated Measures/ Time Series/ Mixed Level Random Effects Statistical Estimation; Machine Learning; Overfit; False Discovery; etc.
- Strong focus on Explainable Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
- Experience working toward replicable causal inference in repurposed data.
- Solid experience with the use of Dev\Sec\Ops procedures tools for iterative development and CI/CD.
- Main-stream BI dashboarding tools such as Power BI; Tableau; SAS; etc.
- Performance Optimization for Data Science development and production.
- Use of a Massively Parallel Database Environment.
- Understands how to optimize data models for MPP with distribution keys and schemes.
- Knowledge of Semi-Structured and Unstructured data; schema-on-read; parsers; NLP packages.
- Medical Training/ Experience in Practice.
- Solid Experience Deriving Insights from Healthcare data.
- Experience doing Data Science leveraging the elasticity in a major Cloud environment.
- Comfort-level presentation to business stakeholders and executives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and mentoring skills as well Frequently Occurring Plusses This Level.
- Working knowledge of stacks and CQRS data structures; and state machines that use them.
- Has used Data Bricks for Data Science - knowledge of Scala a plus.
- Actuarial training and experience.
- Functional Programming.
