What are the responsibilities and job description for the Survey Technician position at Becker Morgan?
Basic Function: This person is part of the field crew that performs field surveys and construction stakeouts.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities included but not limited to:
Conduct field surveys
Record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, sketches, and etc.
Take field measurement with the use of GPS and/or total station, both robotic and manual
Understanding the project goal, scope of work and expectations of the client
Keep surveying equipment and survey vehicle maintained and organized
Overnight stays out of town when the job permits.

Ability to work in a team environment and be cooperative and collaborative
Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
Know, understand, and demonstrate safe working/operating methods of assigned tools and equipment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent
Surveying experience is not necessary but preferred
Certifications/Licenses Required:
Valid Driver’s License

The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, bend, sit, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee is required to stand and walk 6-8 hours daily, repetitive movements 6-8 hours daily, push/pull materials and equipment 6-8 hours daily, and lift/carry materials that are an average of 35 pounds up to 50 pounds 6-8 hours daily. An example of repetitious movement includes brush cutting using a bush axe and hammering wooden hubs and stakes into the group as part of the construction stakeout services. Readiness to perform these duties in all weather conditions/climates, including heat, cold, rain, etc.
