Job Description Summary:
The Sales Engineer (SE) reports to the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) and collaborates with the Regional Sales Coordinator (RSC) and local Application Engineers (AE’s) in the region to achieve sales goals. A successful SE will leverage both their commercial and technical knowledge to drive sales growth in their designated territory. This individual must perform well in a team environment and have exceptional customer-facing skills that advance Beckhoff’s customer experience and sales goals.

- Execute sales activities in the designated territory. This includes:
- Work with Regional Sales Coordinator on territory plan execution and account alignment.
- Proactively schedule in-person and remote sales meetings.
- Develop new customer relationships and expand presence at existing accounts.
- Identify and advance new business opportunities through Beckhoff’s sales process.
- Conduct effective discovery calls to uncover and understand customer needs that leverage a suitable Beckhoff solution.
- Utilize appropriate internal resources based on industry, application type, and customer need.
- Present solutions designed to help the customer be more innovative and competitive in their market.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and drive business to close.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Regional Sales Coordinator
- Review territory analytics to uncover potential areas of improvement.
- Identify targets and customer qualifications.
- Present territory plan updates monthly to RSC/RSM.
- Events and Trade Shows
- Coordinate customer technology events.
- Attend trade shows and technology events.
- Opportunity/order management activities requiring application and product technical knowledge.
- Develop deeper product knowledge of Beckhoff technologies to translate features and benefits to value for customers.
- Update customers on new and relevant Beckhoff technologies.
- Generate a BOM based on customer-provided design requirements.
- Route administrative tasks to other resources as needed (customer service, Operations Group).
- Territory Management
- Maintain and generate accurate forecasts of business.
- Develop a progressive Territory Plan.
- Perform lead, account and opportunity management in CRM.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an Engineering Technology Diploma from an accredited university or college, or Business Degree and experience in Factory Automation products.
- Demonstrated sales experience and a history of exceeding sales targets.
- Experience selling technical solutions to all levels within an organization.
- An understanding of automation hardware and software.
- Desirable if the candidate has 3 or more years of experience in a sales position or industry-related role.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present to customers and/or departmental meetings.
- Must be physically located in the territory they manage.
Salary : $140,000
