We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft.
This position is onsite in Fort Worth at Bells state of the art Manufacturing Technology Center at Hwy820 and I-35W.
Structures Assembly Engineer, Manufacturing Innovation Team

- Develop novel and improved methods for preparing and joining aircraft and spacecraft structures.
- Create project charters, test plans, and manufacturing readiness level roadmaps for project execution.
- Interface with senior level structures assembly engineers, robotics and automation engineers, metallic and nonmetallic manufacturing innovation engineers, Bell technical fellows, program IPTs, and Bell manufacturing centers of excellence.
- Represent Bell with engagement in industry organizations, committees, and government/industry workshops and conferences.
- Prepare and pitch technical proposals for independent research and development (IRAD) and contracted research and development (CRAD).
- Define and justify capital equipment, facilities, raw materials, subcontracted services, durable and perishable tooling requirements for the successful execution of projects.
- Travel to Bell Centers of Excellence for training, face-to-face meetings and hands-on project execution
- Hands on integrating advanced drilling and joining technologies with advanced robotics and automation.

- Direct aviation experience with structures assembly methods.
- Understanding of Determinate Assembly methodology.
- Experience with automatic (robotic) and semi-automatic drilling and fastening methods and equipment.
- Familiarity with aerospace materials including metals, composites, sealants and coatings.
- Effective communicator, both oral and written. Presentation skills, technical writing skills, and project organization, execution and reporting are most important. Bilingual capabilities are a bonus.
- Capability to manage projects with budget, schedule and resource allocations.
- We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate.
- Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
- At least 5 years of aerospace assembly experience required.
- You’ll be off every other Friday with our 9/80 work schedule
