The CNC operator will set up and operate CNC machines and equipment and may unload raw materials, prepare a test run to ensure a machine is working properly and inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements.
Compensation is based on job requirements and your skill level ($18.00 - $25.00/ HR). In addition to an excellent benefit package which includes twice annual bonus payouts, 8 paid holidays, BDnT pays for 85% of the costs of medical insurance for our employees. Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, plans, drawings, job routings and other instructions as detailed in new work orders with precision
- Perform necessary calculations to set up tooling and program CNC machines
- Running multiple jobs simultaneously, machine setup, loading programs, changing tools, adjusting tool offsets, part loading and unloading, checking parts and reading prints.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet all specifications and functional requirements as well as our peerless quality standards
- Maintain machines and equipment by cleaning and sharpening tools and other components as needed. This includes ordering new machine supplies and replacing parts and tools
- Inspect equipment for potential safety hazards, errors, and other issues that may affect the quality of finished pieces
- Perform other corrective maintenance tasks to ensure the functionality of our production line
- Abide by company safety standards and wear proper protective gear
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other detailed specifications
- In-depth experience operating CNC machines
- Experience in precisely using measurement tools including angle ruler, digital or dial calipers, and tape measure
- A working understanding of basic materials science as it pertains to industrial part manufacturing
- Mill experience, preferably with 4 or 5 axis machines
- Design and build fixtures
- Attention to Detail
- Physical Stamina and Strength including lifting and carrying up to 50lbs
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time permanent benefited non-exempt position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, Usual weekday hours 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Overtime frequently available
