Position Summary
Bird Rock Systems focuses on delivering products and services within our core practices: Cloud, Security, Network, Privacy & Compliance. As a Project Manager at Bird Rock Systems, you are the center of the successful execution of our technical projects. You will be responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, resources, and communication, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be expected to cultivate raving fans among our customers, teammates, and partners. The Project Manager is a customer-facing role which requires a high degree of professionalism and excellent soft skills.
Location
Must be based in one of the following locations: OC/LA, Phoenix, or San Diego. This role offers a hybrid work model, requiring in-office presence at least one to two days per week, with the flexibility to work from home the remaining days. Will be called into our San Diego office at manager’s discretion.
Main Duties
- Manage the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, for multiple concurrent projects.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Track project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and proactively communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with operations team, sales team, technical team, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Lead regular project meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
- Manage project documentation and ensure its accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, forecasts, and expenses.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices.
- Contribute to client relationship management and ensure client satisfaction, with a focus on creating raving fans.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, contributing to the growth and development of your teammates.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, seeking opportunities to improve your skills and knowledge.
- Effectively manage diverse personalities, communication styles, and work styles within project teams to ensure seamless collaboration and exceed customer expectations.
- Review and validate project contracts for accuracy and risk.
- Create and manage documents including the project plan, issue and risk logs, and other project artifacts.
- Ensure that all project tasks are assigned and that all resources are being optimally utilized.
- Review and track the status of project deliverables and provide project updates and ongoing cost analysis of project delivery.
- Manage scope creep and change orders.
- Follow and apply project management processes and project documentation.
- Seek to continuously improve profitability and efficiency of service delivery with processes and procedures.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and work quality, remedy when necessary.
- Negotiate contractor rates.
- Deliver new contractor onboarding training.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
Qualifications & Key Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in project management, in an IT-related environment.
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Kantata, Smartsheets, MS Project).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, both in-office and remotely.
- A genuine desire and ability to create raving fans with customers, teammates, and partners.

Salary
- Salary Range: $75k - $100K
