Summary (Position Description): BITZER Scroll Inc. is looking for an Associate Product Technician that has a strong mechanical aptitude, is energetic and detail oriented. In this exciting role, you are working with a team of colleagues from quality, engineering and production operations to detect, analyze, sort and/or rework non-conforming material. You will also assist with the disassembly and diagnosis of scroll compressor failures.

Pay: $19-$23 per hour

Reports To: Director of Engineering

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, some overtime required

As a Product Technician, you will:

• Visually inspect and assess mechanical and electrical components for damage or non-compliance to design specifications
• Perform material quarantines based on established guidelines
• Perform visual and hand tool inspection of mechanical and electrical components
• Use approved processes for sorting non-conforming material
• Use fine motor skills and dexterity to perform minor rework of mechanical and electrical components
• Complete documentation and/or reporting of inspection results
• Properly handle, wash and store components for reclaim and re-entry into production warehouse inventory
• Perform daily housekeeping and organization to maintain a neat and orderly work environment.

-Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma with 2-5 years of experience in a mechanical field

• 5-8 years of experience in a mechanical field
• Strong mechanical aptitude and detail oriented
• Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings
• Excited to be part of a cross-functional team, self-motivated, energetic and willing to learn

Preferred Qualifications:

· Detail oriented and persistent in component defect detection, analysis, sorting and rework

• Proficient use of basic hand tools to rework mechanical components with skill and dexterity
• Desire to assist others with assembly and disassembly of mechanical components
• Strong fine motor skills
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• General knowledge of 5S principles and good housekeeping practices

BITZER Scroll Inc., a subsidiary of BITZER established in 2006, is a development and production facility located in Syracuse, NY. We are a team of 150 people, designing, laboratory testing, machining and assembling scroll compressors for the global commercial air-conditioning market.

Work Environment:

· You will work in a manufacturing and laboratory environment. You will use standard office equipment, basic hand tools and power tools.

· You will be on your feet for the majority of your work day. We will provide you with the appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE).

· You may be required to lift up to 40 pounds.
