Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Assistant to join our finance team. The candidate will play a crucial role in supporting payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation. This position requires a strong understanding of payroll management, governmental accounting, and proficiency in ADP software systems. The Payroll Assistant will collaborate with other departments to maintain accurate financial records and assist in general ledger reconciliation.
Duties
- Process payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and governmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee hours, deductions, and benefits.
- Assist with the reconciliation of general ledger accounts related to payroll transactions.
- Utilize accounting software and financial software such as ADP and Kronos for payroll processing and reporting.
- Support accounts receivable functions as needed, ensuring timely collection of payments.
- Collaborate with HR to manage employee data changes affecting payroll, including new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments.
- Prepare reports related to payroll metrics and assist in audits as required.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies or issues.
Skills
- Proficient in ADP and Kronos systems for payroll management.
- Strong understanding of governmental accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation and accounting software.
- Knowledge of accounts receivable processes is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
