Blaire House of Tewksbury is a 131-bed skilled nursing center. We have been family owned and operated, servicing the health care needs of seniors for nearly 50 years. We specialize in Short Term Care, Long Term Care, Rehabilitation, Sub-acute Care, and Alzheimer's Specialty Care. Our campus also hosts an Assisted Living Facility, and Senior Transportation.
Job Summary:
- Responsible for all dietary services of the facility.
- Administers and supervises all menu planning, food preparation, staffing of dietary personnel, sanitation of dietary services, and safety and security of dietary.
- Responsible for all inspections of dietary services by various agencies.
- Responsible for departmental records which include requisitioning of food, supplies, and equipment; inventory system; light and heavy cleaning schedules.
- Responsible for training all dietary personnel. This includes in-service training, training in fire safety and emergency procedures, on-the job training, and conducting staff meetings.
- Responsible for developing and implementing dietary policies an procedures, including the disaster plan. Also responsible for carrying out all corporate policies as they relate to dietary services and for submitting any necessary reports in a timely manner to the designated corporate person.
- Responsible for quantity, quality, temperature, and appearance of food and for ensuring that meals are served as scheduled. Also responsible for therapeutic diets, substitutions, update of dietary Kardex under the direction of the dietitian.
- Perform weekend and holiday coverage on a rotating basis; complete required administrative coverage documentation and submit it to the Executive Director.
- Practice positive resident relations by demonstrating hospitality and service standards to residents, families, guests, and the general public.
Qualifications:
- EDUCATION: Ability to speak, read, and write English. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Must have ServSafe Certification or enroll in and pass an approved ServSafe Program within a six-month period from date of employment.
- TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Must have at least two years of formal training and two years of experience in food service. Must have knowledge of basic principals of dietetics, sanitation, large scale ordering, preparation of food, supervision of staff, and food service techniques.
