Job Description:
The Blake School seeks a creative and reflective Middle School social studies teacher who is eager to help students investigate both United States histories and global developments. The department guides student inquiry about contemporary issues by asking, “How did we get here?” The teacher will work collaboratively with one or more partners within the department to design inquiry-based units within a grade-level curriculum.
The social studies team aspires to draw from best practices in project-based learning, historical-thinking skills and media literacy to develop foundational skills in reading, research, academic conversation and writing. We are eager to meet candidates who have experience working with adolescents to foster a community committed to pluralism, curiosity and empathy.
