JOB QUALIFICATIONS
All Levels:
- Understand units of measure.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Must be able to be fitted with a respirator.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace by properly handling and storing materials, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and putting all items in their proper place at the end of each workday.
- Take proper care of all Blazer-provided tools and equipment.
- Must be able to prepare the materials, supplies, and tools needed daily.
- Must have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to do the required tasks with high quality and minimal to no errors.
- Must be able to do the required tasks in an efficient manner and per the expected time frames.
- Must have the ability to learn new skills to advance to the next level.
- Follow all safety procedures and report violations and incidents immediately.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to be fitted with a respirator.
Maintenance II & III:
- Knowledge of production methods to accurately prioritize the workload.
- Knowledge and understanding of single- and three-phase electricity as well as low-voltage control systems, as well as the ability to accurately troubleshoot machine and tool breakdowns due to failures in the electrical systems.
- Knowledge of basic hydraulic, pneumatic, LPG, and natural gas systems.
- Ability to repair and maintain gasoline, LPG, and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment such as light trucks, sweepers, portable generators, and compressors.
- Ability to properly use all types of electric and pneumatic power tools that are related to our industry.
- Ability to maintain and repair stationary woodworking equipment such as table saws, gang rips, planers, panel saws, radial arm saws, etc.
- Experienced in operating and using equipment and fabricating components and materials used by the Plant Equipment Maintenance and Fabrication crew.
- Ability to operate a lathe and milling machine to accurately reproduce repair parts when OEM parts are unavailable or practical.
- Ability to develop and fabricate simple projects without the aid of formal prints.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings.
