- Collaborates with the waste removal and recycling service provider to coordinate logistics, quality, recycling and disposal processes in accordance with BMW policies and legal requirements.
- This includes contract oversight for points of waste generation in the manufacturing halls, as well as within the BMW Waste Management Facility.
- Guides the external service provider and technologies on the creation of disposal guidelines for production waste segregation and collection.
- Collaborates with the business and authorizes waste containers and placement, in cooperation with the service provider.
- Coordinates chemical and waste storage, inbound/outbound logistics for waste disposal, and recycling activities in accordance to BMW policies and legal requirements.
- Oversees waste segregation, processing and recycling initiatives to ensure structured and efficient flow of material from the technology processing centers to the Waste Management Center.
- Oversees and coordinates activities for waste service providers and sub-contractors on the BMW plant site.
- Participates in sourcing discussions and audits concerning waste recycling and disposal companies, in cooperation with the environmental group and waste service provider.
- Plans and coordinates the collection of waste by the approved collection agencies in accordance to BMW procedures and policies.
- Formulates and continuously improves logistic processes related to, waste minimization, containment, storage, labeling requirements, recycling and disposal.
- Manages hazardous chemical waste collection, storage, removal and disposal, in cooperation with the BMW Lab and the environmental group.
- In cooperation with the Purchasing department, prepares specifications, quality documentation and tender documents, for contract negotiations with approved waste processing, disposal and recycling companies.
- Creates an audit schedule to audit and control waste generation areas in conjunction with the relevant disposal representative, the operators within the waste management facility and all recycling and disposal contractor operations and facilities.
- Maintains database for waste data (weights, volumes, costs and- revenues), correlating this with data from purchasing and relevant contractors and sub-contractors.
- Collaborates with BMW planners and project engineers for future projects involving waste disposal logistics (e.g. process changes, amount and/or waste composition changes).
- Ensures that the waste management facility is a safe work environment by coordinating and planning repair and maintenance of the facility.
- Creates budget and forecast for Assembly and Logistics waste operations, as well as contract values and forecasts for plant site logistics.
- Enforces safe work practices within the waste management facility and plant site, in accordance with BMW policies.
- Consults with the Environmental, Compliance, Customs, Internal Audit and/or Legal teams to ensure compliance on a regular basis.
- Compiles monthly reports for all waste data and relevant issues for the attention of the environmental manager.
- Develops, assigns, coordinates and reviews waste provider KPIs and performance on a regular basis.
- Ensures waste provider responds to environmental spills and addresses inquiries or complaints in an effective and timely manner.
- Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts for Standard Work and Problem Solving.
- Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.

- 5 years of professional logistics, waste, chemical, or environmental experience.
- 2 years of ISO 14004 Management experience (preferred).
- 5 years of MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Access).
- 5 years of professional communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
- 5 years knowledge of all waste fields, including specialized collection programs (automation), recycling and other waste reduction programs.
- 3 years knowledge of automotive industry waste management systems.
