Job Type: Full-time, Salary (exempt) position $80K - $100K to start… DOE

Reports To: Director of Parts/Service Operations and or Parts/Service Finance Manager

Service Manager Job Summary

The preferred candidate for the Service Manager role shall have strong leadership skills and mechanical skills necessary to lead a team of mechanics responsible for servicing compact equipment at our Stockton location. This role oversees all aspects of the service department, including customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and profitability.

Responsibility: Run an efficient and profitable service department through productive staffing, technical training, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all service records. Ensures the daily hours of technicians’ time is consistently working on billable and collectible service work.

Service Manager Duties consist of, but are not limited to:

• Communicate in advance with technician and customer when cost over runs are anticipated.
• Manage work order processes, ensuring accuracy in original quote, follow up with technical and customer and timely completion of customer repairs.
• Collaborate with the warranty administrator to ensure all claims are accurately and timely submitted and properly reimbursed.
• Monitor technicians' daily quoted repair times, parts orders, productivity and efficiency ratios, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance overall efficiency and high-quality repairs.
• Supervise technicians to ensure high-quality repairs, proper pre-delivery setups, and adherence to deadlines.
• Ensure service vehicles comply with DOT and BIT inspection requirements and that all maintenance is completed to standards. Oversee EPA HAZMAT procedures in coordination with the Facilities Manager.

Service Manager Education and Experience

• High school or equivalent (required).
• Understand Service Dept. KPI’s, metrics and financial statements.
• Positive, collaborative, career-minded, self-directed team member.
• Background in compact construction and ag equipment preferred.
• Valid Driver License.

Service Manager Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Utilize dealer management system for work order processing to create work orders (CDK/PFW Intellidealer).
• Discretion in handling confidential, proprietary, and financial information.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) for direct communication with co-workers, customers, manufacturers’ representatives.
• Management of service department financials; profit and loss statements, fiscal budgets to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Strong work ethic with ability to multi-task, solve problems, and have strong decision-making skills.
• Good understanding of industry and manufacturer key profit indicators and use them to assist in gauging performance and opportunities.
