As a paralegal, you will be a vital member of our legal team, utilizing your core skills in legal research, document creation and review, and case management to support attorneys in litigation matters. Your premium skills in family and criminal law will enhance your ability to assist in a variety of legal areas. With a focus on organizational skills and attention to detail, you will excel in managing documents, conducting research, and providing administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Organize and maintain client files and documents using document management systems
- Prepare and file legal documents with the courts
- Conduct legal research using resources such as Westlaw
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional manner
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, and court appearances
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing calendars, and working as a team.
Qualifications
- Experience as a legal assistant or paralegal preferred
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate preferred but willing to reevaluate with appropriate experience
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Highly proficient in MS Office and Adobe
Salary : $40,000 - $50,000
