SUMMARYO/BJECTIVE
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records while providing excellent customer services to our customers.
 
Position Schedule:  Monday-Friday with hours negotiable
Pay Range:  $27.00-$36.00/hour 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists with the preparation of financial statements and support schedules. Interacts with other team members and departments to maintain all required documentation and resolve any issues in the financial process. Must comply with established policies and procedures.
 
Reviewing company financial strategy and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Assisting with creation and maintenance of annual budget including establishing standards.
  • Preparing account reconciliation (cash, liabilities, fixed assets, payroll accruals) and supporting sub-ledgers.
  • Reviewing, updating, and implementing existing internal accounting systems
  • Analyzing revenues and expenses to ensure that they are recorded appropriately on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Researching and resolving account reconciling items.
  • Assisting with analyzing financial reports and report variances.
  • Monitoring all company expenditures and where appropriate make recommendations regarding budget and chart of accounts.
  • Preparing and filing sales tax requirements.
  • Assisting with set-up schedule and maintaining reporting requirements.
  • Supporting other team members, as necessary.
  • Assisting with maintaining computerized accounting system.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and your manager will provide you with the specific details of your schedule. The schedule is subject to change due to customer requirements or business needs. Overtime may be necessary to manage emergencies, heavy workloads, or other issues.
 
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area and overnight travel may be expected. All travel must be approved in advance by management. Please reference the employee handbook for all applicable policies.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Solid understanding of accounting procedures.
  • Maintain confidential information with professional and ethical demeanor.
  • 5 years accounting/finance experience.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Similar or related product knowledge.
  • Experience in a production environment.
  • Experience with SAGE/EPICOR ERP System.
