Boys and Girls Club of Janesville Overview

The Boys & Girls Club of Janesville began in 1989 out of the trunk of a car. Over the next decade, we operated out of different storefronts, and later, from the old Knights of Columbus building in Janesville's 4th Ward neighborhood. In 1999 the Club expanded into our current location at 200 W. Court Street--which allowed us to nearly double the number of youth we serve. Demand for services continues to be strong, and we actively look for ways to increase the number of youth we reach. Currently we bus students from Janesville elementary schools to the Club, and are always looking to add new sch...ools--and new Club members--as our funding allows. We rely on community support through donations, volunteerism, grants, sponsorship, and the support of individual donors to make quality after-school and summer programming available to all of our Club members at extremely low cost. The ACTUAL cost for services provided to ONE child at the Club is approximately $500, while Club members pay just $20 to belong during the school year. More
