What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist position at Boys & Girls Club (Central Orange Coast)?
Position Description:
The Front Desk Receptionist is a high visibility position and requires a positive attitude and accurate skills. The Office Manager is responsible for the reception area (front desk) at the club. Duties include greeting guests in a friendly, professional manner, answering phone calls, assisting guests with questions regarding the Boys & Club programs and services, entering membership information into membership management system and charging for services performed.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Commitment to Safety
- Contribute to environment of safety through the learning and implementation and monitoring of all safety-related best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Promote accountability to safety through consistent observation, adherence to all safety rules and practices and proactive communication among members, parents, peers, and leadership.
- Obtain and maintain Mandated Reporter training and complete annual Child Abuse Prevention training.
- Complete training and participate in all Emergency Preparedness protocols including drills and communication practices.
2. Acknowledge and greet all visitors. Issue visitor badges when needed.
3. Accurately enter membership information in membership management database and maintain membership accounts.
4. Answer phone and accurately take messages.
5. Provide detailed descriptions of Boys & Girls Club programs, services, facility features and hours of operation.
6. Check mail and accurately distribute.
7. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Job Skills & Requirements
- Must possess basic math and money handling skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficient with database programs; knowledge of KidTrax preferred
- Ability to maintain a pleasant demeanor in a fast-paced setting
- Time management, planning, and organization skills.
- Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting).
- CPR & Basic First Aid certified preferred (provide proof upon interview)
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
