JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary: The Human Resources Generalist, under the direction of the Human Resources Supervisor, is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, coordination of company activities and events, assists with other general HR duties as assigned at the Irving facility.
Essential Functions:
- Oversees the nonexempt recruiting for the plant by actively marketing, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring for hourly plant positions
- Maintains accurate records of active job openings and received applications; manages internal and external salary job postings
- Administers plant HR recordkeeping programs by maintaining employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details
- Develops and conducts stay interviews with the goal of strengthening
- employee retention strategies
- Conducts offboarding interviews with resigning or retiring team members and track reasons for voluntary terminations. Makes recommendations on how to address turnover issues and support an environment of continuous improvement based on findings
- Assists in coordinating company events and activities as needed.
- All other job duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Associate Degree OR 1 years of Human Resources experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner
- Proficient in both oral and written communication
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook/other e-mail software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior recruiting experience
- Experience working in food processing/manufacturing
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment, with periodic time spent on a refrigerated manufacturing production floor. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones
Physical Demands: The physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting, driving, seeing, and hearing.
Travel: Occasional travel to another facility may be required
