Front End/Closing Lead

Overview

Brooklyn Grocery Outlet is a locally owned and operated grocery store, and our goal is to provide a clean, fresh and unique shopping experience for our customers every day.

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Front End/Closing Lead to join our team. The Front End/Closing Lead will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service while handling store standards, customer concerns, and closing duties.

Summarized Duties

• Greet all customers and assist with questions and concerns, while providing excellent customer service.
• Operate the cash register and handle cash, check, credit, debit, EBT transactions accurately when needed.
• Process merchandise returns, exchanges, voids, etc. at the registers.
• Oversee all front end activity and all team members, including grocery and fresh merchandisers.
• Coordinates sales promotion activities and prepares/directs the preparation of merchandise displays.
• Count and balance safe and cash tills.
• Ability to close the store independently, as the Lead person in charge.
• Ensure key areas of the store are well stocked and maintained. Follow closing procedures to maintain a clean and neat store appearance at all times.
• Stock shelves, accurately sign products, and ensure proper product organization and display.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Previous experience in retail/grocery or cash handling is preferred, but not required.
• Intermediate math skills.

Environmental Job Conditions

• Occasionally requires lifting objects up to 40 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects greater than 40 pounds with assistance.
• Frequent movement on hard surfaces; standing, bending, handling, pulling, pushing, reaching, and stooping.
• Comfortable indoor environment with occasional exposure to temperature extremes from freezers and/or coolers. Occasional exposure to cleaning agents.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
