Janitorial Floor Technician Part Time - Background Check Required
Position Title: Janitorial Floor Technician Part Time

Requirements: Ability to Pass County Required Background Check & Current Driver's License
Position Description:
Under supervision, team members will clean and maintain all carpeted and hard surfaces in the facility, performs preventative maintenance on special floor equipment.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet, and VCT flooring
- Previous experience stripping and finishing a variety of floors including Terazzo and VCT
- Ability to Run walk-behind scrubbers, walk-behind extractors and swing buffers
- Ability to steam clean upholstery
- Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
- Use and maintain equipment properly.
- Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely
- Observe safety precautions at all times, uses safety signs “wet floor”
- Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops.
- Mopping floors with wet or damp mops.
- Suction cleaning carpeted areas and “spot” cleaning carpets.
- Using electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines to burnish, scrub, polish and spray clean floors (after receiving proper instruction and training).
- Using electrically powered pick up machines.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.
- Be able to operate all types of cleaning machinery and equipment
Qualification Summary:
- Minimum of 2 years in the janitorial industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have the ability to clearly communicate effectively and tactfully with customers, subordinates, and management of all levels within the organization
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing work environment
- Ability to prioritize and organize work related tasks and special projects
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to operate manual and mechanized equipment.
- Full range of motion.
- Ability to stand, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, reach above shoulders.
- Ability to maintain continuous walking, standing, bending or stooping for extended periods of time.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
- Sight required to visually inspect work site.
Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching over head, handling/fingering, reaching forward, and concentrating. Must be able to lift and and/or carry 100lbs.
Work Environment
Work is for the most part performed in an indoor climate of average daily seasonal temperatures. Outside work is subject to varying seasonal temperature Employee may be exposed to odors, chemicals, product spills, dust, loosened wax or water.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will NOT supervise management & employees.
