Job Summary
As a Production Lead in the food industry, you will oversee the production process in a food processing plant, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and maintaining high standards of food safety.
Responsibilities
-Oversee and train production team members and temporary associates working on specified production lines.
-Ensure all production records are properly maintained.
-Monitor production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
-Start the machine, engage the feed, and observe the operation.
-Move equipment controls and guides to adjust the machine.
-Determine work procedures and expedite workflow.
-Meet production goals.
- Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Coordinate equipment startups and shutdowns.
-Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
-Monitor quality assurance.
-Operate forklift or electric pallet jack.
-Since this is a relatively specialized position and very few people can perform the tasks required for this position, regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this department
Skills
-High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or two years related manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.
-Basic Arithmetic.
-Read, write, and speak English. (Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.)
-Ability to work 40-50 or more hours per week.
-Ability to work weekends as needed.
-Ability to wear protective smocks, hats, gloves, sleeve guards, hairnets, rubber boots and at times cut-resistant gloves.
-Ability to perform routine repetitive work.
-Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently for several hours or during the entire shift.
-Ability to operate forklift and electric pallet jack.
