Job Overview:
As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a vital role in supporting our sales staff and ensuring a seamless experience for our customers. This role involves managing will-call orders, handling cash and credit card transactions, and providing general support to ensure our customers receive top-tier service. You will work closely with our team to maintain smooth workflow in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with inquiries, product information, and order status both over the phone and in person.
- Support sales staff by processing orders, handling customer requests, and ensuring accuracy in order entry.
- Manage will-call orders, including preparation, verification, and coordination with the warehouse team.
- Process payments, including cash and credit card transactions, and ensure proper documentation and accuracy.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and courteous demeanor while interacting with customers.
- Handle customer complaints and escalate issues as necessary to ensure quick resolution.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient workspace, including filing and record-keeping.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and warehouse, to ensure customer needs are met.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the company.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a wholesale or industrial environment.
- Experience handling cash and credit card transactions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience in the building materials industry a plus.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with tact.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
