Builders Fence Company, Inc. is a leading wholesale supplier to the fencing industry, providing high-quality materials and exceptional service to our customers. We are looking for a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative. Must have Building Materials experience.

Job Overview:
As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a vital role in supporting our sales staff and ensuring a seamless experience for our customers. This role involves managing will-call orders, handling cash and credit card transactions, and providing general support to ensure our customers receive top-tier service. You will work closely with our team to maintain smooth workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with inquiries, product information, and order status both over the phone and in person.
  • Support sales staff by processing orders, handling customer requests, and ensuring accuracy in order entry.
  • Manage will-call orders, including preparation, verification, and coordination with the warehouse team.
  • Process payments, including cash and credit card transactions, and ensure proper documentation and accuracy.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and courteous demeanor while interacting with customers.
  • Handle customer complaints and escalate issues as necessary to ensure quick resolution.
  • Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient workspace, including filing and record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and warehouse, to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the company.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a wholesale or industrial environment.
  • Experience handling cash and credit card transactions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience in the building materials industry a plus.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with tact.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.17 - $25.80 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
