We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HERS Energy Modeler, Plans Examiner, Plan Reviewer or someone with Residential Construction Experience to join our team at our office in Fairview, TX. This role is a critical part of our commitment to delivering sustainable, energy-efficient solutions for our clients.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Familiar with the identifying following systems of a residential new construction: building envelope, heating and cooling systems, appliances, lighting, air infiltration and collected data analyzation.
- Perform accurate HERS energy modeling, and analysis for residential projects.
- Review and examine construction plans to ensure compliance with energy codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with city officials, builders, and developers to provide expert guidance on energy efficiency and code compliance.
- Communication with field inspectors to verify compliance and provide consultation on energy efficiency measures.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for clients and regulatory bodies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, energy codes, and certifications relevant to HERS ratings and energy modeling.
- 1-2 years of related experience
- An understanding of residential construction and architectural plans would be a plus
- Experience performing plan takeoffs, compliance reviews, peer reviews is a plus
- IECC - Residential Energy Inspector/Plans Examiner; Commercial Energy Inspector
- HERS Field-inspector
- RESNET Rater
- ICC Residential Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical
- Certified HERS Rater with a proven track record in energy modeling and plan review.
- In-depth knowledge of energy codes (e.g., IECC), standards, and building science principles.
- Strong proficiency with energy modeling software (e.g., REM/Rate, EnergyGauge, Ekotrope, or equivalent).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in an office setting.
