JOB DESCRIPTION

Project Description

The IT Business Systems Delivery (BSD) Customer Engagement department supports, manages and implements a portfolio of IT system capital initiatives with our Customer Operations, Energy Management and Energy Efficiency business partners. This IT team supports each initiative from conception to implementation and provides the necessary IT support required to either enhance existing systems, create or enhance interfaces and/or design, develop, test and implement new applications.

The Customer Engagement Capital Portfolio Team is looking for a Senior Salesforce Administrator with strong communications skills, to work with our existing IT delivery team to design, develop, test and implement key functional enhancements based on business requirements from our product owner and regulator. The ideal candidate has strong Salesforce administration and configuration skills, communication and problem-solving skills, can help foster relationships, facilitate and coordinate standard project operations and support and drive excellence.


Role & Responsibilities

Configuration Management & Customization

o Customize the Salesforce platform to meet the organization's unique needs

o Configure fields, objects, flows, and automation rules

o Create and manage reports and dashboards

o Assist with data migration and integrity

Ongoing Support

o Helping address issues or bugs identified post-release and implementing enhancements as needed

o Troubleshooting, answering queries, and providing guidance post-releases

o Plan for ongoing maintenance of the platform, including updates, patches, and performance monitoring

o Monitoring of system automations and integrations

Compliance & Security

o Control access to sensitive data through profiles, roles, and permission sets

o Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure data privacy

o Collaborate with the company's IT security team to address any regulatory requirements

o Stay informed about security updates and best practices

Documentation

o Document system configurations, processes, and customizations

o Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base for users and administrators

o Provide clear documentation for any changes made to the system

Collaboration

o Work closely with stakeholders (CDG) to understand their requirements

o Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams

o Act as a bridge between business needs and technical solutions

User Training

o Creation of training modules covering key features and functionalities of Salesforce

o User guides and documentation to help users navigate and utilize Salesforce effectively

o Materials for workshops and training sessions, including presentations, hands-on exercises, Q&A

Release Documentation support

o Feature enhancements, bug fixes, and changes implemented in each release

o Analysis of user feedback gathered during each release cycle, with recommendations for improvements

o Plan for iterating on Salesforce configuration based on user feedback and program requirements

Continuous Learning

o Keep up-to-date with Salesforce releases, Utility Cloud updates, and industry trends

o Earn relevant certifications, such as the Salesforce Certified Administrator and any specialized certifications related to Utility Cloud or other Salesforce products.

Required Skillset

Experience

o 4 years of experience in Salesforce

o Agile methodology, business analysis and user story development

Salesforce Fundamentals:

o Strong understanding of Salesforce CRM concepts and the Salesforce platform.

o Proficiency in Salesforce configuration tasks such as creating fields, objects, page layouts, flows, validation rules, reports, and dashboards.

o Knowledge of user management, including roles, profiles, permissions, and security settings.

o Experience with data management and migration tools like Data Loader, workbench and Import Wizard.

o Ability to create meaningful reports and dashboards that provide insights into utility operations and customer behavior.

o Experience deploying with change sets

Communication and Training:

o Strong communication skills to work with stakeholders, gather requirements and generate project artifacts

o Ability to provide training and support to users in Salesforce.

Project Management:

o Experience managing projects, including upgrades, customizations, and new feature rollouts for Salesforce

Problem-Solving:

o Ability to troubleshoot issues that arise within Salesforce, providing support and solutions to users.

Soft Skills:

o Teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

o Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Certifications:

o Salesforce Administrator

Preferred Skillset

Salesforce Platform:

o Experience working with and maintaining Service Cloud and Experience Cloud

o Familiarity with App Exchange products, including document generation and e-signature tools

o Experience working with and managing DevOps via Copado

o Ability to troubleshoot Apex, omniscript and lightning web components

o Strong Understanding of the Energy and Utility Cloud features and how they cater to the needs of utility companies.

o Knowledge of industry-specific workflows, like service order management, field service, and customer engagement specific to utilities.

o Familiarity with utility data models and how utility data (like meter readings, service connections, and outage management) is managed in Salesforce.
