SUMMARY
A laborer, or General Laborer - Utility Painter, under the supervision of the foreman, is responsible for performing various tasks, including painting various pieces of equipment, and aiding daily operations at a construction site. The duties and responsibilities of a laborer are geared toward maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient construction site while also supporting the overall project.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleaning, painting, and varnishing different surface types.
- Properly preparing surfaces for painting including power-washing and / or sanding.
- Selecting and mixing appropriate paints.
- Applying paint coatings using conventional or airless spray equipment.
- Maintaining all paint-related equipment and managing communications for paint inventory.
- Ensuring quality standards are met.
- Operating equipment such as hand tools and paint sprayers.
- Cleaning and preparing construction sites.
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.
- Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties.
- Must be able to assist pile drivers and welders in the task of the job.
- Must be knowledgeable for marine construction.
- Maintains a clean job site, picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
- Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State / Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
