What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consumer Loan Processor position at Caltech Employees Federal Credit Union?
CEFCU is searching for a Consumer Loan Process/Financial Services Representative who will work closely with our Consumer Loan Officers to complete the processing and funding of consumer loan requests. Explains other financial services and products and responds to member inquiries. Provides prompt courteous service to members by telephone and in person and provides back up MSR support as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Discusses consumer loan products with members and conducts initial loan request interviews.
· Processes all types of consumer loan requests including share loans, credit card, auto loans and unsecured loans.
· Underwrites share secured loan and Student Mastercard requests.
· Explains and promotes companion lending products and services such as Debt Protection, Autoland, GAP and MBI.
· Responds to members' questions on account status; investigates and corrects errors.
· Processes loan add-ons to personal lines of credit, equity lines of credit, and share loans.
· Provides convenience checks for lines of credit when requested by members.
· Prepares Payroll Deduction Authorization forms and allocations for accounts.
· Responds to members' requests for account transactions in person and telephonically.
· Performs MSR duties, as needed, including maintaining a daily cash drawer for backup to MSRs.
· Explains and promotes additional Credit Union products and services such as regular savings, custodial and trust accounts, traveler’s checks and ATM cards, E-Branch, Mobile Deposits, etc.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
· Performs all duties in compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and appropriate regulatory statutes.
Qualifications and Requirements
· Two to three years of experience in branch operations or lending in a financial institution
· Thorough knowledge of financial services operations, especially in the areas of branch operations, member service and consumer lending preferred
· Working knowledge of the credit union’s core operating system strongly preferred
· Working knowledge of various Microsoft Office computer programs, such as Word and Excel etc.
· Excellent customer service skills
· Ability to develop effective working relationships with all staff at all levels
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
· Ability to uphold confidentiality standards and exercise discretion and good judgment
· Must be eligible for Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System registry.
· Must be bondable by the credit union’s insurance agency

Pay: $23.34 - $35.02 per hour
