What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Manager position at Capitol Boiler Works?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include any/all of the following:
- Dispatches technicians.
- Supply job packets to all appropriate technicians.
- Identifies and resolves errors promptly.
- Distributes information to all appropriate technicians and departments in a timely manner.
- Notifies technicians of any last-minute changes through texting or phone calls.
- Assists Company personnel as needed.
- Researches and resolves problems and questions or properly refers them to the appropriate manager.
- Maintains the Company’s professional reputation.
- Ensures that work areas are clean, secure, and well maintained.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Track employee hours worked and employee time off for entry into the HRIS timekeeping system.
- Answer telephone calls during the work shift from field personnel reporting their hours worked.
- Must be connected to the HRIS system and available to take calls from field personnel for the entire shift.
- Verify field personnel work tickets have been received into the HRIS system and completed correctly; start and end times recorded, work tickets signed by customer, and materials used are included.
- Verify work hours submitted by field personnel using GPS records; adjust submitted time as necessary.
- Verify daily attendance and hours worked for all assigned field personnel.
- Record and hold annual Reviews for field personnel
- Compile and submit scheduled attendance report to designated departments.
- Provide attendance/timecard information to supervisors, fellow workers, and subordinates when required.
- Stay informed, keep up with, and apply the company policies and rules that affect timekeeping.
- Work directly with the payroll specialist to ensure accuracy of daily digital timecards for every employee.
- Use Microsoft Excel to compile and format attendance related reports.
- Additional duties or projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school education/G.E.D.
- Mechanical contracting background.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing systems, filing and records management systems, and other office procedures and terminology.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one setting to members of management and fellow employees.
- Ability to write legibly for form completion.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
- Ability to perform essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards/requirements.
- Ability to meet and maintain all qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards/requirements.
- Compliance with all personnel policies and practices.
- Ability to comprehend and carry out safety sensitive duties according to company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Ability to perform simple cognitive tasks such as reasoning, planning, multitask, simple mathematics, and Teamwork (able to handle conflict or disagreements appropriately).
